The metropolitan area of Lille is home to almost 115,000 students. At the heart of this big city, which is only 20 minutes from Lille’s European train station, Roubaix stands out as the ideal place for living and studying. Boasting numerous higher education institutions and establishments, including EDHEC, ESMOD, IUT Lille 2 or even UFR LEA Lille 3, Roubaix is also very well served when it comes to city transport links (metro, tram, bus, free rental bicycles) connecting it to the centre of Lille.
While its proximity to its famous neighbour has its own advantages in terms of Lille’s cultural infrastructure, Roubaix, with its rich industrial past, has an identity all of its own, thanks to its iconic La Piscine Museum, among other locations. Students also enjoy a range of municipal schemes: “C’art”, a museum pass providing access to 12 museums and art galleries within the municipal region, several of which are in Roubaix. Our Roubaix student residence is thus located in the pleasant neighbourhood of Anseele Motte Bossut, which is close to the city centre and public transport links.
